AlphaValue Study Highlights Diverging Trajectories for Oil and LNG
A new sector study by AlphaValue projects rising global LNG demand beyond 2025 as the long-term paths of oil and gas continue to diverge.
Independent research firm AlphaValue has released a new sector report titled "2050: A Gas Odyssey", analysing the outlook for the global liquefied natural gas market. The findings suggest that the respective trajectories for crude oil and LNG are moving further apart as international energy markets evolve.
According to the study, worldwide LNG demand is forecast to increase from 422 million tonnes per year in 2025. This anticipated growth underlines the widening division between the future demand profiles of traditional oil resources and natural gas across the global energy landscape.
For vessel operators, offshore contractors and procurement teams, these diverging paths highlight the need to align supply strategies with expanding gas infrastructure. Sustained demand growth suggests that sourcing specialised marine equipment, parts and technical support tailored to LNG operations will remain an essential operational focus.
