NNPC and Heirs Energies Agree Gas Capture Partnership on OML 17
NNPC and Heirs Energies have agreed to capture and commercialise flared gas from their onshore OML 17 joint venture in Nigeria.
Nigeria's state oil firm, NNPC, has signed an agreement with domestic producer Heirs Energies to capture and utilise gas currently flared at their onshore OML 17 joint venture. The partnership is designed to commercialise previously wasted natural gas while lowering emissions.
Under the arrangement, the joint venture partners intend to deploy solutions to convert flared volumes into usable energy resources. The initiative forms part of a wider effort by Nigerian operators to monetise natural gas assets and reduce routine flaring across regional production acreage.
For contractors and technical procurement teams, gas capture and flare-reduction projects typically create requirements for specialised compression units, flowlines, and process equipment. As producers look to bring flaring reduction schemes into operation, supply chain providers will need to respond with timely sourcing and technical support for gas-handling infrastructure.
