TotalEnergies and AMNI Approve Offshore Nigerian Gas Project for 2028

TotalEnergies and its partner AMNI have formally approved the development of a major offshore gas project in Nigeria. The sanction clears the pathway for capital investment and execution works aimed at bringing the offshore field onstream within the next four years.

First production is scheduled to begin in 2028. Field operations are projected to reach a plateau rate of 350 million cubic feet per day, which represents an energy equivalent of more than 60,000 barrels of oil per day.

For offshore contractors, vessel operators, and procurement teams, this project approval signals a pipeline of commercial requirements across the regional supply chain. Delivering the necessary offshore infrastructure ahead of the 2028 target will require marine transport services, offshore support vessels, and technical procurement across all stages of development.
