TotalEnergies Approves Ima Offshore Gas Field for Nigeria LNG Expansion

TotalEnergies has approved the development of the Ima offshore gas field to supply Nigeria LNG's Train 7 expansion starting in 2028.

TotalEnergies has granted approval for the development of the Ima offshore gas field in Nigeria. The upstream project is planned to strengthen feedstock deliveries to the country's liquefied natural gas export infrastructure as production capacity grows.

According to project details, the offshore field will supply approximately one third of the gas needed for Nigeria LNG's Train 7 expansion. First gas deliveries from the field are scheduled to commence in 2028, securing a major share of the feed gas volume required to support the expanded facility.

For offshore contractors, vessel operators, and technical procurement teams, the development signals upcoming requirements for field development activity and marine logistics. Demand for offshore support vessels, marine construction, and technical equipment supplies will be critical in advancing the offshore field towards its 2028 operational target.
